Labor Force & Employment

Labor force in DeKalb County, comprised of DeKalb and the five counties that often provide workers for DeKalb businesses, grew 34 percent from 1990 to 2000. Job growth in the county will be nearly 50 percent higher than population growth through the year 2025. Total labor force in DeKalb was 389,264 in 2005, with another 1 million plus in the counties adjacent to DeKalb.
